Education

I was educated at Abingdon Boys School, Oxfordshire, England. Here I attained A* GCSE and A-level qualifications. Students are encouraged to develop their character in as wide a field as possible. I spent much of my time in the music centre - I play drums and guitar - and out on the river in a boat, playing rugby and football, and learning to cook (I probably should have taken more classes in that). I have spent my last two years travelling and working in Europe. In this time I have lived in Austria, Berlin, Paris, Côte d'Azur, and have mastered my language skills in French and German. I have had a vast range of jobs, from waitering, customer care, child care and tour guide. I have studied political science at the Humboldt Universitaet zu Berlin for a Semester, and am currently studying Philosophy, Politics and Society at Radboud, a course which I find extremely enjoyable and interesting.

Experience

I have a depth of tutoring experience in language. I have spent 3 years as a tutor in my local village in Oxfordshire and was thrilled with the results. All of my former students have received A* results in the topics we addressed. I enjoy tutoring because I feel extremely privileged for the education that I have enjoyed. The opportunities offered to me reflect an inequality that is hard for me to justify as the benefactor of such a system. I strongly believe that excellent education is a fundamental right for all, regardless of where you are born. Coming from a family with many younger siblings, I have often had to take the responsibility of their care, which is something that I do with great pride. I would be more than happy to provide references if required.

Hobbies

I am an aspiring journalist and write a political blog regularly. I have good academic writing skills and enjoy analysis of political commentaries and my own formulations thereof. I am constantly keeping up to date with the latest current affairs and try to make myself as a rounded of an individual as possible. I also enjoy team sports, notably hockey and tennis, and frequent the meditation and yoga sessions at the Radboud sports centre. I also am a big fan of french philosophy, notably existentialist thinkers such as Camus and Sartre. Currently I am reading Michel Foucault.
